CERT Rodeo Postponed

The CERT Rodeo Committee met Monday and decided to postpone the event scheduled for September 19.  September is National Preparedness Month and it appears that many of the NH CERT programs are involved in other events that day or in some cases, the entire weekend. The committee will publish a new date in the next couple of weeks. The Rodeo will most likely be rescheduled for April 2010.

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills. CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help.

The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) organizes and utilizes public health and medical volunteers. These volunteers prepare for and respond to emergencies and act as a support to existing public health and emergency resources. Retired professionals, who have maintained their credentials, and would be available during disaster, are especially needed.
